ACT panel: How IBDs are navigating challenges and building resilience

At CIN Live, ACT Director Jonathan Harrison will host a panel exploring how independent bike dealers (IBDs) are navigating a “perfect storm” of challenges in today’s market.

Titled Insights from the Shop Floor: Retail Resilience in a Challenging Market, the session will bring together leading retailers to share first-hand experiences of dealing with supply-chain disruption, shrinking margins, shifting customer expectations, rising costs and warranty frustrations. Panelists will also discuss how they are building customer loyalty and collaborating more effectively with suppliers to stay ahead.

The discussion will highlight the role of the ACT in amplifying the IBD voice and fostering a stronger future for the sector, providing candid, solutions-focused insights into what resilience really looks like in modern cycle retail.

Taking place at midday on Monday 15 September on the Seminar Stage at CIN Live, the panel features Mark James from J E James, Michelle Chappell from On Your Bike, and Tom Thornley from Paul’s Cycles.

“(I) can’t wait to host the panel at CIN Live. It’ll be a great chance to hear straight from bike shops about the challenges they’re facing and the ideas that are helping them push through,” said Harrison.
